Snowy the Goblin and the Cross Over Bridge

The South air blew across the still river, carting with it, the defined smell of salt. Close to freezing to death, Snowy walked along hurriedly across Milton Bridge, which was built of stones. Others would have found it odd, a stone bridge built in the middle of a city, of which everything was built so stylishly, that no one seemed to cross the bridge, and instead chose to avoided it. Many people thought of as a statue, only there to impress tourist. But that wasn't why Milton Bridge was never used, or never used by   humans.  It was simply because of its magical use. It was a portal into a world in which was unknown to many. As Snowy passed, a young boy on a bike he hit an invisible wall and slipped through a door. The force, left the young boy on the bike stunned, however the boy soon snapped out of his shock and kept on peddling down the last few meters of Milton Bridge, shaking he’s head and whispering something about watching too many movies. “Choose the path that's right by you. Always. It may end in misery -a small price to pay. No amount of hardship compares to the emptiness of regret. Of never having lived at all.” Let’s first talk about this opening – it was really promising, it engaged me immediately and I found myself consumed into the story.  Yet there were also a few things that I want to discuss as certain aspects could have been improved upon. One of my favourite things about this book, and the most obvious, was that I really enjoy reading from Tobias’s prospective. He is kind, loving and honest. He also interacts with people in a realistic way, and was probably the most grounded character in the book. His internal dialog also sounded realistic– I would probably think the same things in those situations. He wasn’t a hero. But he will try and save people and he is modest about it. Idle Existance

I don't believe in God. I don't believe he exist. I believe that when you die, when your mind and body decides it is time to go, that there is nothing there for you to go to. You simply cease to exist. Not very imaginative, I know. But I do believe that the existence of this belief is unhealthy. After all, who wants to know that after death, you become nothing? I certainly try not to think to much about it. It just leads you astray, as you start thinking everything you do becomes pointless. But I also believe that the existence of the belief is important. It's required to maintain an illusion of barriers, to keep people ruled by the knowledge that there are consequences for unjust actions, for sin and wrong doing. We cant very well govern a world if there is no set society values and standards. If people don't know where they stand, if people believe what they are doing is right when in fact it's morally wrong. No, I don't believe in a religion, but I still...
